District Information
The Viera Stewardship District was established to provide efficient funding and a long-term maintenance mechanism for the public infrastructure associated with the planned development of the West Viera Development of Regional Impact, which currently anticipates 18,023 housing units, 546,129 square feet of commercial use, 476,368 square feet of office use, and a variety of recreational and institutional facilities. Maintenance activities include the following: aquatic weed control for the drainage system and community canal, preferred-cover type area maintenance, street lighting, and wetland and habitat maintenance in the Viera Wilderness Park.
Boundaries
The boundaries of the District are generally described as bounded on the north by the Eight-Mile Canal, on the west and south by the River Lakes Conservation Area, and on the east by the Viera Development of Regional Impact and I-95, containing approximately 13,441.6 acres located in Brevard County, Florida.
